I have received this message from the County Council as an update to the close of the Bramcote House Care Home. The County Council seems to have taken great care in helping sort out the difficulties that arose when the owners decided to close the home earlier this week.
"I am pleased to inform you that a suitable alternative care home place was found for all of the 13 residents. 12 of the residents were helped to move out yesterday afternoon and one resident was admitted to hospital for health care needs which were not related to the closure of the home. Fortunately our staff were able to make contact with and liaise with family members of 12 of the residents and the new homes were selected in discussion with the relatives. All of the alternative homes are in the local area. Six residents were moved to Broadgate Care Home and four were moved to Bramcote Hills Nursing Home. At the request and choice of relatives, one resident was moved to Meadow Lodge and one to Landermeads in Chilwell. Our staff were required to work at considerable pace and with due sensitivity to the needs of the residents, the concerns of their families, and a number of the home’s care workers who had voluntarily continued to work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the service users and to support them whilst the moves were completed."
