Last week I gave an invited talk to Bramcote Probus. I spoke about "My Life as a Politician". Afterwards I was asked to write a summary of the talk for their magazine Probability. You can see the summary of the talk here.
I just want to say a big thank you to all those who sponsored me for the walk that I performed with my dog Charlie. As I reported, we made it to Langley Mill and back which was a total of 19.7 miles. Many people have been highly generous and the total amount of sponsorship received amounted to £2386.82 all of which has now been sent to the charities. One or two donors specifically asked for their donation to be used exclusively for the scouts or St Michael's and this created a small imbalance in the amounts that were passed on. The results was that SW Notts Scouts received £1243.41 to help fund scouts attending the International Jamboree, and St Michael's Church received £1143.41 to fund important church projects. Once again, many, many thanks to all those who were so kind in sponsoring us.
