I reported earlier that it is the intension of the Police & Crime Commissioner to cut the number of PCSOs by 20% which will have a huge effect on policing in Bramcote and Stapleford. I have now received the message below from Nottinghamshire neighbourhood Watch. I do hope you will respond.

"from Further to my Alert message issued on the morning of 8th May 2015 concerning the proposed reduction in the number of PCSO’s within Nottinghamshire Police, some people have requested an email address so they might contact Paddy Tipping, the Nottinghamshire Police & Crime Commissioner.  Paddy can be reached on nopcc@nottinghamshire.pnn.police.uk

Thank you for your concern,
John Wood
Chair,
Nottinghamshire Neighbourhood Watch (aka NottsWatch)"

New borough councillors for Bramcote Ward

9/5/2015

After a count for Bramcote Ward that lasted over 6 hours it was confirmed that the three new councillors are the Conservative candidates. They are John Doddy, a GP with a practice in Stapleford and who lives in Trowell, Martin Plackett, who is retired and for many years has served as a churchwarden at St Michael's Church, and Jan Gould who lives in Beeston. John Doddy already serves as a county councillor representing residents in Chilwell and Attenborough. Congratulations to them on their their election. The Liberals Democrat ex-councillor David Watts came only 6 votes behind Jan in the count, closely followed by Ian Tyler with Matthew Holden also receiving a good number of votes. Labour candidates came in behind the three Liberal Democrats and were followed by UKIP and then the independent candidate Paul Nathanail. I wish those elected well as they now turn to acting as your representatives on Broxtowe Borough Council. All communications on Borough matters should now be directed to them. Finally, can I say as I step down from being your Borough councillor, how much I have enjoyed representing you over the last 24 years, as have David Watts and Ian Tyler in more recent years.

Thank you to those who voted for me in the General Election

Yesterday I failed in my attempt to represent the Broxtowe Constituency in Parliament, however I want to convey a huge thank you to those who voted for me. I am greatly indebted to you for your support and your trust. Thank you very much indeed.

What I discovered during the campaign was that there were some  who were determined to support me as your representative at the national level after so many years of representing you at local level. But there were also many who were more concerned about using their vote to keep out either the Labour or the Conservative candidate. Of course, while this attitude persists, there will never be any prospect of alternative views being heard in Westminster. However, that is as it is.

You already know that I did not stand for re-election to represent Bramcote Ward on Broxtowe Borough Council this year. I will let you know who your new representatives are when the votes are counted later today. I will, however, continue to be the Mayor until the first meeting of the new council on the 20th May. I will also continue to be the county councillor for Bramcote and Stapleford Division on Nottinghamshire County Council. .
